tear (marking)
Tear markings, also known as tear streak markings, are a form of facial marking present on several species. As the name implies, the markings resemble "tears", often resembling cartoony tear-like lines or streaks underneath the eyes. Said markings can manifest as thick, under-eye markings, often straight in shape, or tapered lines originating from the inner corners of the eyes
Said markings often were used as a form of glare reduction, this use being commonly seen on cheetahs.
