antennae (anatomy)
Antennae (singular: antenna), sometimes referred to as "feelers", are a pair of sensing appendages seen in arthropods. In popular media, they're also seen on various fictional creatures, most often aliens.
Connected to their heads, antennae can vary drastically between species, though they all are made of one or more jointed segments. While generally used for sensing, this "sensing" and what it's used for can vary, and some often have other purposes as well. Social arthropods such as Hymenopterans often use them for detecting other members of their group.
For wire used for sending and receiving signals, use antenna_wire instead.
