Set (also known as Seth) is the Egyptian god of deserts, storms, disorder, and violence. He is the brother of Osiris and the father of Anubis. Horus is either depicted as his nephew or second brother depending on certain myths.

Set is commonly said to resemble a canine, but in reality it is heavily debated what his animal is. Egyptologists claim that he is a composite of these following animals: an aardvark, a donkey, a jackal, or a fennec. Some said the "ears" on his head are actually the ossicones of a giraffe. Some say it is based on an animal that doesn't exist anymore. Most agree that the animal never existed.

For the purpose of consistency, Set should be tagged with his own species instead of canine, unless explicitly portrayed as another, existing species (such as in MegaTen for example, where he's commonly depicted as a wyvern).
