Feminization is a theme where a male-bodied character becomes less stereotypically masculine and more feminine in behavior, sexuality, fashion, or body. Often involves the character becoming more submissive, wearing more traditionally feminine clothing, becoming less muscular, losing facial hair, gaining feminine bodily curves, and so on.

A wide range of actions can achieve feminization:

• outright physical transformation into a femboy or complete gender transformation
• brainwashing, mind control, or mind breaking to alter the character's personality or behaviors
• forcing, coercing, persuading, or otherwise convincing the character to behave more submissively, crossdress, or accept or enjoy less heteronormative sexuality
• the processes of personally experimenting with less heteronormative gender or sexual roles, coming out of the closet, or exploring or expressing more feminine gender identities

Do not confuse with

Avoid tagging feminization for simple gender transformation, femboy, and crossdressing posts unless they clearly demonstrate a character's increase in femininity or provide significant context clues that feminization is occurring or has occurred.
