tube feet
Tube feet are smalle, tubular shaped projections on echinoderms, seen on things such as the "arms" of starfish and the undersides of sea urchins. They are a part of an echinoderm's water vascular system, a form of hydraulics used by echinoderms for movement, breathing, eating, and disposing of waste. Water is forced into tube feet via muscle contractions, allowing for them to extend and push against surfaces, while relaxing retracts their projections.
