Originates from the phrase "I got the banhammer", referring to a permanent ban on a website or forum; and has since taken a life of its own in the form of an oversized warhammer with a cartoonish appearance.

Unless the character using the hammer is synonymous with the banhammer itself, please limit usage of this tag with hammers that have the word "BAN" or "B&" emblazened on its head.

"B&" being shorthand for "Banned" in case the full word is too big/long to fit on the hammer head.
