The Eurasian Lynx (Lynx Lynx) is the largest of the four extant species in the medium-sized felid genus Lynx.

It inhabits the north of Eurasia, its range extending as far south as Iran and Iraq. Eurasian Lynxes fare well at high altitude, inhabiting elevations up to 5500m (18000ft). Eurasian Lynxes are opportunistic hunters, though they prefer large ungulates.

The Eurasian Lynx has a spotted reddish-brown to golden fur in with white coloration on its neck, chin and underparts changing into a thicker silver-grey fur in the winter. Some animals feature brown forehead and back markings. It has a short tail with a black tip, black ear tufts, inner ear fluff and cheek tufts.
