radiant crown
A radiant, radiate, sun, or tyrant's crown, is a crown, diadem, wreath, or other headgear symbolizing the sun and/or powers associated with the sun. It typically takes the form of a horned disc to represent the sun, or a curved band of spikes to represent rays. The crown is seen in several societies, including Egypt and the Roman Empire.
The crown in Egypt often is portrayed as a disc framed by the horns of a caprine of bovine, known as the cow horns crown. It has been worn by pharoahs and deities such as Horus, Hathor, and Isis
In the Roman Empire, the solar crown was worn by Roman emperors. Emperor Constantine reinterpreted the crown into a form similar to the crown of thorns.
