Species: proboscis monkey
The proboscis monkey, also know as the long-nosed monkey or bekantan, is a reddish-brown arboreal Old World monkey. As the name implies, it is know for its unusually large nose.
Sexual dimorphism is pronounced in the species, with males having the titular large nose (though the female's nose is also big, just not as much) which can exceed 4 inches in length, hanging lower than their mouths. The nose is theorized to possibly be used for sexual selection by females, who prefer the louder vocalisations caused by the larger nose.
The proboscis monkey has a long coat of fur; the fur on their back is bright orange, reddish brown, yellowish brown or brick-red while their underfur is light-grey, yellowish, or greyish to light-orange.
