Midna is the deuteragonist of the 2006 Nintendo game The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. She was voiced by Akiko Koumoto and illustrated by Yusuke Nakano. She is member of the Twili, a fictional race of magic-wielders, who chooses Link to help her accomplish her goals. While appearing as a diminutive imp for most of the events of the game, this form is the result of a curse placed onto her by Zant. While Link is in his wolf form, she frequently rides on his back and offers her assistance in combat and exploration, pulling switches with her hair or creating a field of power that Link can use to target multiple enemies for a swift attack.

Outside of her major role in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Midna has appeared in several spinoff and crossover games. In the Super Smash Bros. series, she has appeared as a collectable item (a trophy, a sticker, and a spirit) and as an Assist Trophy. She also appears in Hyrule Warriors as a playable character, once again in her imp form.
