Rio is a 2011 American 3D computer-animated adventure-comedy film and is the second main animal film series produced by Blue Sky Studios. The title refers to the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, where the film is set.

The film tells the tale of Blu, a male blue macaw (meant to mirror the real life Spix's macaw) who is taken to Rio de Janeiro to mate with the free-spirited Jewel. The two eventually fall in love, and together they have to escape from being smuggled by Nigel the cockatoo. The film has one sequel, and directors have stated their interest in another installment for the series.
