Species: ant queen

Queen ants are a physical caste of female ant, specialized in breeding most (if not all) of the ants in the colony. The are often specially fed in order to develop sexual maturity. Not all queen ants breed, and some in fact reproduce asexually, making all of their offspring female clones. Unlike bees, not all queen ants can exist alone; there can often be species that have multiple queens, and in some cases potentially hundreds of fertile queen.s Their colony fiercely protects them.
