A loincloth is a one-piece garment that covers the genitals, often worn by tribal characters. In reality, all loincloths pass between the thighs in order to cover the wearer's genitals. In fiction, this is often not the case; 'loincloths' are very commonly depicted as small aprons that only cover the crotch, making them very vulnerable to upskirts. Male characters who wear loincloths are usually depicted topless, while Female characters are more commonly, but not always, depicted wearing a bra or bandeau.

If worn with a belt, it is known as a breechcloth.

Frequently used to tag skirts or topwear with high slits. Many uses of this tag are slits to the hip in non-loincloth clothing.
