One of the allowed filetypes to be uploaded on the site is .webm. This is royalty free modern video fileformat used commonly embedded on websites and can provide much higher quality from flash or gif. Video content in other formats needs to be converted into this format before uploading.

If you got to this page through red notice bar on post, you most likely encountered problem playing the file. Please see below what software you are using for more help.

Microsoft Edge ^

Edge does support VP9/Opus video files natively, however this is only trough Media Source Extensions which is used with sites like YouTube.
To be able to view all WebM files on any website, Web Media Extensions need to be installed from Microsoft Store. You can install this from the following link:

Internet Explorer ^

It's possible to play WebM files on IE 9 and newer by installing WebM Media Foundation Components, this will also make the files play with Windows Media Player. Install it from:
https://www.webmproject.org/ie/

Sadly this solution only supports VP8 codec, this means that many videos here will not play even after installation of the MFC. To be able to view all videos, change browser or download the videos and view them with local video player.

iOS (iPhone, iPad) ^

Sadly Safari doesn't support WebM content at all and other available browsers are subject to same limitations that Safari has.

Downloading the video into local memory and watching it trough video player like VLC should work.
