An area of sand or small stones near the sea or another body of water such as a lake.

In practice, this is primarily tagged for flat sandy beaches. Use rocky shore, seaside, and/or cliff for jagged and rough shorelines.

Do not tag if there is no visible land. If a character is standing in water, seaside may be applicable.

Not to be confused with

• cloudscape - just the sky, no water or land.
• seascape - water and sky, no visible land.
