An ice cream cone is a dry pastry, usually made of a wafer with a waffle-like texture, that is designed to hold ice cream, allowing the consumer to hold the dessert in their hand and eat it without a bowl or a spoon. Also called a cornet or (in Northern Ireland and Scotland) a poke.
