Path lines
A component frequently seen in motion blur, these lines show the travel path of a moving character, or object.

Direction lines
Direction lines are similar to path lines, but are actually a variant of speed lines. These lines consist of spaced or clustered groups of parallel lines set in the direction of a forceful action. These often appear along contours, and may even intersect with the contour. See also distorted contour
