Since there were many questions, we asked the Emissary about some aspects of the fuse-suits:

Q - First of all, why furry?
E - Oh, you're asking about the technical details. The fur is designed for temperature control. Beside the obvious thermal insulation function, those hairs are able to absorb or emit UV, IR and deep IR rays to keep the inner temperature in normal level. ( We kept the visible wavelengths intact to avoid cultural shock. ) Additionally, the long fur parts are working as vapor traps. This secondary water supply is crucial in desert environment.

Q - Oh. And the tail?
E - The efficiency of the vapor trap system is not unlimited. A tail was the easiest way to enhance the fur amount. I mean, your species already have tails - degenerated from evolution, but not completely disappeared.

Q - Ermm... and the huge animal ears?
E - As I heard, this is an explorer-research expedition. Obviously all of the senses were enhanced near to the biological maximum. Hearing, vision, smelling, touch, etc. It's the standard procedure in these cases.

Q - But... the reason for this feminine look is still unclear. Is this some kind of joke?
E - Not at all. The suits need a fundamental pattern of the base species to work. We searched the local internet for keywords 'most beautiful body' and many similar expressions, and used the mathematical average of the first 100 000 results... Hmm... Now, you mention it, there were significantly more female persons on those pictures. Is this strange femininity worshiping cult an important part of the Terran mentality??

Q - Eee... That's not exactly what I expected... Can you tell me why you made this... ahem ... hermaphrodity thing?
E - Oh, that one surprised me too. We just set the suits to move the testicles back to a safe internal position and made the penis retractable, because the desert is dangerous.

Q - Then what happened?
E - As they are originally medical equipment, the suits' fundamental function is to regenerate damaged or lost limbs and organs. Since our race is monoclinous, we forgot that the human genome contains but does not use the "blueprints" of both genitals. The suits simply regenerated the missing organs. But I think it's just a minor issue. None of the expedition members complained about it. You're not forced to use what you don't want to. :)

Q - Have you any explanation for the expedition members' sudden aversion to clothing?
E - I don't know anything about their reasons. It's their decision, not mine. We only used long fur on the limbs to maintain the possibility of dressing comfortably. I myself like to wear nice clothing too.

Q - I heard they said that they feel like all clothes are itchy. Is it possible that it's because of the enhanced sense of touch you mentioned?
E - Now that you say it...
