Story by Prince_Borgon
By the time Prince Borgon inherited the crown of Valmeridia, the princedom was in a dire state.
The few subjects who remained in the now almost wild lands had immediately set to work to fix up the castle
a bit and return to cultivating the fields, but very few of them were cut out to become good knights.
Over time, the situation has improved, but the castle's staff has not grown enough to allow the prince to employ a proper bodyguard when he ventures outside his lands.
And while Silva is happy to escort him on his diplomatic travels, the prince sometimes prefers to leave her in the castle to manage the day-to-day tasks instead.
This is why the practice of using volunteers and mercenaries has become almost a habit for Borgon.
Unfortunately, relying on near-unknowns often involves risks.
A well-paid mercenary can still decide not to do their job well, or worse, to turn against those who paid them for protection.
And the same goes for a volunteer warrior.
Such is the case of Gathik'Rok, the son of the chieftain of the tribe with whom the prince had the meeting,
and who is now escorting the prince on his return journey from a diplomatic meeting with the western territories.
From the beginning of a spiteful and hot-headed spirit, the crocodile doesn't seem well disposed towards the sarcastic nature of the dragon prince.
The final straw comes during a dinner at an inn, where the prince decides to test his nerves by helping himself to his dish.
Unfortunately, the crocodile didn't seem to find it funny..
And even if he knows he deserves it given the affront his bodyguard has suffered,
Prince Borgon has no choice but to find a way to resolve in a peaceful way this silly conflict of interest~

Prince Borgon really likes risky jokes, and this time he may have bitten off more than he could chew (literally) ^^

I really do like to show how our prince is unable to understand when it's better to be serious rather than tease!
