Description
Daniel is a fisherman, he enjoys the sound of the waves. The subtle rock of the boat, the clunk of cooler boxes bashing into each other, the peace. He ties knots, he tugs on ropes, he anchors himself on the mast in heavy rain, he goes for dips in the water every day-end. A bird like himself is at his peak, reaching towards 50 faster than he can blink.
“The day I die is the day the crabs start biting” he would say in his heavy Scottish accent every-time someone mentions his age. Luckily for him, Puffins can reach well into their 60s.
Living in a log cabin down by the harbour does take its toll though. The constant barrage of strong winds have torn his roof off many times and the heavy fog often makes him feel uneasy in the mornings. Such is the life of an old salt like him.
