The planet on which this story takes place is called “Terra Canis.” It’s a little bit on the nose, yes, but I’m not even diving into why a Latin clone exists there, it all goes Dr. Who rules as for the story being recorded in our languages.

Large and medium-sized animals evolved through prehistoric eras together to possess human-level intelligence and similar advancements in anatomy. Just remember the setup given in Zootopia, basically. And few there like being in the nude anymore, so that’s why Fred’s wears a shirt and swimming shorts, even if his tail could mostly cover his ass.

Fred the Fox’s design is a bit more human-like compared to the others mainly because when I drew him, I thought of him more like a reader stand-in compared to the other characters. I really like using button eyes, so expect a lot of them, sorry! It also kind of separates the Terra Cannins from the Hungry Alien more.

This was the 2nd page I inked and colored after finishing page 2 since I was Dreading drawing the planet in the 1st panel and the splash FX in the last. Again, I like the overexposed look I was finding with fooling around on photoshop. Fred looks kind of stiff, but at least his shirt wrinkles I think look believable. I did NOT permit more time to get that stupid forest done.
