Amber the Robot Rabbit ver. 2024
Amber the Robot Rabbit renewed design after 12 years. This is a “rehab” of me drawing robotic stuff.
Amber is a character from my original sci-fi project “Electric Hearts”. She is one of the first original characters I ever designed. In older versions she was a SWAT police officer, but this idea unfortunately clashed with Judy Hopps from Zootopia (although Amber came out 10 years earlier), and my idea of the project also shifted to something else. I will have to come up with some new story for her.
This picture is based on an old picture 12 years ago. I was at a bad place when I drew the old version — both skill-wise and mental-wise. I was only able to make a sketch of my idea and stopped there. I even doubt there was a clear intent when I drew the 2012 version. Perhaps I feared continuing to work on it might lead to a rigid, unpleasant result, like most of the stuff I did in my low period between 2012 – 2022.
But still, the old version was one of the better ones from that period, and that’s why I decided to redraw it. It only took me a day, and it was an enjoyable process. I think the new version has successfully captured what I hoped to achieve in the old version.

兔型机器人琥珀 2024 版
个人原创的兔型机器人“琥珀”12 年来的第一次重新设计，作为我画机器人的“康复训练”。上图为 2024 版，下图为 2012 版。
琥珀是我正在准备的个人科幻类原创作品“电子之心”的角色之一，也是我原创角色中资历最老的之一。原本的设定是特警，但因为跟疯狂动物城的朱迪在设定上撞车 (虽然琥珀比朱迪早 10 年)，再加上作品主题的变化，感觉需要更改她的职业。
这张图是按照 12 年前同一角色的一张旧图的姿势重画的。当年画技和心态都不好，这张旧图只是潦草地画了个大概，无法进一步细化 (怕是认真画会变得很生硬)，没把心中的想法表达到位。但在 2012 – 2022 年低谷期的作品中已经算是看起来比较灵动的一张了。新旧版本放一起对比还是很有趣的。
