Spike and Hatred - sketch
Just a very quick sketch I did in my art journal. It's Spike whispering to the young, shadowy shape of Hatred.
Hatred was Spike's "imaginary friend", or Guardian Demon (instead of Guardian Angel) who would keep Spike company at Charles/Chuck's house when Spike was little, as he had no one else to talk to.
Hatred was the evil voice inside of Spike, his hatred, litterally.
Hatred could whisper suggestions of bad things Spike could do to Charles, but Spike would just say things like "no, it's mean", "he loves me" or "he would just beat me afterwards". So, in a way, Hatred was the "normal" part of Spike, and Spike himself was the scared, brainwashed part.
I can write more about this later if I decide to re-draw and color this deviation. But I sort of think this crappy cellphone photo gave it an eerie feeling. So, despite all the flaws, and this only being a sketch, I kind of like this deviation.. :p
