  • I wonder if her dad's going to get off his ass and help her.

Prolly not, bet the guy's drunk dead on his couch.

  • I too took a tumble down some stairs when I was 2 or 3. Unlike other childhood memories from that time it is still vivid in my mind. It became a core memory for me because both my parents were quickly there to comfort me and clean my bloody nose. Trauma in these early times often stick with us for a long time and teach who can be trusted and dependable. Keith failed Serah back when it mattered most. We've seen two flashbacks of traumatic situations Serah has been through. Both paint her father in a negative light. There's going to be a lot of work to do to build a new foundation of trust for this family

  • I can't help but think that her hand is backwards the way she grabs her ankle in this page. Try sitting in this position and grab your ankle with the thumb to the outside, it wouldn't be easy.

I just did. Right hand and foot. Index finger closest to heal and thumb on the dorsum. Actually didn’t even have to think about it.

It really depends on how you are oriented. If leaning forward, thumb in front. If leaning backwards, I.e. hopping, fingers in front.

  • This is really bringing me back. The shock and fear sometimes hits you harder than the pain, tears everywhere, uncontrollable sobs.

I don't think the term crocodile tears applies to this situation but I could be wrong.

reaching back with her arm twisted .. thumb facing outward ..

Pretty easy to do without twisting your arm. I think it’s just drawn a little weird.

I highly doubt those are crocodile tears. Speaking from experience, sprained ankles HURT.

  • With such a thick tendon on their digitigrade feet, that’s either one heck of a sprain, or a tear.

    Looks painful either way.

“Crocodile tears” is when someone (usually, but not always, female) fake cries to gain sympathy; generally during some kind of confrontation. There’s nobody around her, from what we can see, so nobody to give sympathy. Plus, the chances of her NOT being in pain after that fall, are basically zero.

So, i used that term to describe the amount of tears, not a form of faking tears for attention. I guess my idea of the phrase was completely wrong this whole time? Thanks for down voting me for my ignorance I guess.

  • As someone who grew up with alcoholic parents, this is becoming very real and hitting hard. Great work on making this a realistic depiction

My thanks (and upvotes) go the person who, instead of judging and downvoting you, actually explained the phrase.

Nah. If you don't respect stairs, stairs will respec you and take all the points out of agility.

  • I remember falling down my stairs as a child. It was after watching Toy Story, and I wanted to copy what Buzz did when trying to fly. I fell and rolled down the stairs. Either I don't remember it, or I was a tough cookie, but I wasn't crying or bleeding. I was laughing as my understandably spooked parents checked me over LOL

Oof, don't you hate that? You've been using an idiom a certain way for so long and then suddenly find out it means something else entirely? I've been where you are, neighbor.
