Knowing that another touchy-feely , self-loathing, bleeding-heart Liberal would inevitably be the end result if he did not intervene, The General took it upon himself to educate the "Peach Kid" about his European heritage before the politically correct public indoctrination system could work it's guilt magic.
For days he would visit the lad and fuel his youthful imagination with colourful descriptions of cities such as Paris, Venice, and Dresden. He gave vivid descriptions of structures like the Palace of Versailles, Notre Dame, the Sistine Chapel and, one of his personal favorites, the Dresden Frauenkirche. He even brought along his old phonograph on a number of occasions so that the boy might experience classical music by composers like Beethoven and Bach.
The morning the child goose-stepped into class in a viking outfit, singing Wenn alle untreu werden, (much to the confusion of his teacher and classmates, I might add) the old war bird knew that his job was done.
