Like many other transuranic elements, berkelium was first created at the University of California, Berkeley's Radiation Laboratory (now the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory). Sather Tower, a landmark of the campus, is shown here.

Why Celestia? The university's motto is "Let There Be Light".
