Description
Great Knot Wood
The Arcanine lets out a deep growl and Clarkey freezes, removing his paws quickly a moment later. He looks at the beast again, shaking and worrying he upset his hero, hoping the rumours of the “gentle giant” are true. His ears drop in anticipation, time stopping, Clarkey’s heart racing.
Arcanine breaks the gaze, looking down and pushes his muzzle against Clarkey’s chest. The fox blushes as he goes to stroke it - but then the Arcanine forces him back.
He immediately loses his footing and falls on his back, his breath taken away from him. He looks back at Arcanine, a tinge of fear glimmering amongst the fox’s eyes. The beast’s paws move forward, crunching twigs beneath the immense pads. The previously quiet chirps of distant birds and rustle of the wind in the trees now become the only thing on his mind, flooding his senses...

This was a fun one to do! <3 Sometimes, the simple prompts are the best - big Arcanine towering over a fox, front to front. Iterate through versions, get a nice kiss in there, some dripping shafts, play around with the lighting... and you have a lovely time drawing <3
This was a commission for the very sweet Clarkeyboy! Fun fact - the background for this picture was inspired by a recent short holiday to the Lake District, a site of beautiful rolling hills and lakes in the far north-west of England. To be specific, after a short walk one day around Lake Windermere I found a somewhat amusingly named forest, and a picture I got from that very place helped me make the background, and the lighting, what it is here <3
Enjoy! <3
