Description

The Mountain Reedbuck, Redunca fulvorufula, actually has nothing to do with reeds, but is related to the (southern) reedbuck which I featured here earlier. It's a medium-sized antelope, occurring in mountainous and hilly regions in Southern and North-Eastern Africa, with an outlying population in the Cameroon Highlands. Only males have the short, sharply forward-curving horns. The black patch under the ear is a scent-gland. Small acrylic painting.
