Solarium / Majesty

Done! :D

Digital paintjobs really go pretty well with my graphite work i think. Digital work by itself can be really awesome in the right hands, but a lot of the time it looks really ...plastic and lifeless. Like when i do it :P *sucks at purely digital art*

Not to say i'm super awesome at this either, it might also look pretty "plastic and lifeless" to some.

I don't know what i'm trying to say... i guess the only difference is that the textures present in my work are different than the ones digital artists use in that they are a more accurate translation of a real, physical object.

ANYWAY, tangent there.
Sphinx :D
I actually did lighting, which is new for me. It's only really one source... but wow, it adds a lot of depth. It wasn't even that much extra work, either.
The 'roof' of whatever place she is basking in reminded me of a greenhouse, so i thought i'd make this place she's in pretty bright. It might be artificial light, i'm not sure. That's up the viewer's interpretation. The world she lives in might exist in perpetual darkness... maybe artificial light is all there is. Maybe their world's sun has died. Or maybe she is among a middle generation belonging to one of many genetically engineered species inhabiting an interstellar ark making its journey of lifetimes across the cold, dark gulf between stars.
