because of how the implication system works, it should also imply weapon, since ranged_weapon wouldn't auto-imply weapon itself, unless I'm misremembering?

The system seems to handle cascading implications just fine. I removed bow_(weapon) ranged_weapon and weapon from an image and saved it. Then I added back only bow_(weapon) and it was properly tagged with both ranged_weapon and weapon automatically.
