Topic: Character Owners as Copyright Tags

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Should OC owners be used as copyright tags? Like, if someone has a lot of different OCs, more than 4 or 5, should there be a single tag for them all they can be grouped under if we want to search for all the various characters someone owns rather than trying to search for each one individually?

No, we do not host tags for character owners or commissioners.

only exception that I know of is Whitekitten because so many people wanted to blacklist the content they commission.

a simple way to find them without an overarching tag would be if they have the owner's name as a suffix then you can go search *_(owner_name)

Ie searching *_(maaarked_one) will pull up any images tagged with character's with that suffix

Ah, didn't know that, that's useful. Thank you!

Note that this really only applies for potentially ambiguous character names. So something like leo_(maaarked_one) would have a suffix since "Leo" is a fairly common name, while something like ray_vanhem won't since it's much less likely to get confused for different characters. In the latter case, the character owner can/should be added to the character's wiki page, which has a search page to find references in other characters mentioning that owner.
