mass update totty_(character) -> totty_(theycallhimcake)

Reason: Clarifying the names of some of theycallhimcake's older, more obscure characters.

At the time of writing, all of the posts tagged under totty_(character) are referring to Charlotte the Dog Mage, aka "Totty".

And while "plant_mom_(theycallhimcake)" does have a proper name, its spelling seems a bit inconsistent even in the artist's own work (second L is single or double, Y or I at the end), but "Lili" seems to marginally be the most common and recent based on text descriptions in his galleries, namely his old Tumblr blog .

really should just be an alias for both of them there is clear precedent consider the name Ollie has two pages of tags and ollie is very ambiguous

I can put in a disambiguation request for ollie.
All aliases and BURS are done by users, so sometimes things get missed, in the last few months I've been trying to disambiguate as many of these tags as possible.
just because it exists and has been missed does not mean that it marks a precedent.

Edit: Ollie is already disambiguated?

maybe im confused im just pointing out that the name being ambigious isnt really a good reason considering there is other tags like that. that are allowed

Any tags being used like that should be disambiguated. They aren't allowed per-say they've just flown under the radar, for example have a look at how many regular names I've had to disambiguate in recent months:
https://e621.net/forum_topics/55690

many of these had been character tags for years despite being ambiguous and having many entries of differing characters.

No worries everyone starts off somewhere! I didn't even know how to write a BUR a few months ago!

Disambiguations are so we can keep characters separated from other characters with the same name, for example, there are many many characters (and artists too!) named Ollie (https://e621.net/tags?search%5Bname_matches%5D=ollie*), so we try to give every character a unique tag so they can all be separate. This can be by naming them Ollie_(owner_name) or Ollie_(character_last_name) or other forms of suffix!

ah ok got it sorry, so we update totty now and then you just gotta make sure no one else uses the totty_(character tag)

the name Ollie alone has 2 pages of tags I really think that sets a precedent here
and olli has 9 tags

What are you talking about?

The tag ollie has already been aliased to ollie_(disambiguation) since there are numerous characters & artists with the same name.
On the other hand, olli only has 2 posts and does not seem to be disambiguated yet. Since numerous characters are also named 'Olli', the tag would receive the disambiguation treatment as well.

In both cases, the proper way to handle it is to alias the common name & name_(character) to name_(disambiguation) so that future attempts to use the tags would be invalidated.

Manitka already explained this

Just realized that Plant Mom is referred to as "Lily" (single second L, ends with Y) in that relationship chart from this year ( X , Bluesky ). Not sure if recency overrules frequency in this case.

If all this while they have been referred to as "Lili" and is only referred to as "Lily" on this single page, then we will just assume that this most recent page is just a typo.
If they begin to be referred to as "Lily" from this point forwards and multiple times by the artist, then we will assume that the artist has renamed the character with a different spelling and an additional alias is needed.

Don't worry about the BUR though as you can still edit it anytime before it gets approved.
