I guess if you're sending nudes, it's generally implied that you're sending messages that are sexual in nature. I mean, I don't think people generally send nudes without any form of textual messaging also being involved(?)

Though, some of the sending_nudes posts are just nude characters holding a phone, which probably shouldn't be considered sending_nudes/sexting at all...

Agree, in a lot of cases I'd probably just call that taking_picture.

More on topic, exchanging nudes is a form of sexting under most definitions of "sexting" I've come across, both legally and colloquially. I 100% agree with this implication

I believe sexting implies that they were sent by wire or over the internet. I think sending sexual messages through the post is a just called a love letter. I would actually take my upvote back because of that; I just didn't consider it. Further, would you consider it sexting if a nude model was sending their portfolio, which are technically their nudes, to an employer? I doubt it - sending nudes isn't necessarily sexual and would not always be considered sexting under that, even if it usually would be.
