Topic: Discord ban appeal (part 2)

Posted under General

I would have loved to continue this conversation in the original thread but the only admin who saw it said what he said and immediately locked it afterwards, more on that in a bit. However, now that I actually have a reason for my ban, I feel that it would be more fair that I explain my side of the story instead of keeping it one sided.

Near the end of May, a friend of mine said a slur, which resulted in his instant ban as per the new rules. This was rather surprising to me simply because I hadn’t known of the new rule prior to its implementation, and he hadn’t had any trouble prior. Me and several others commented that it was a bit harsh before learning of this new rule.

However, there is an important thing to note about this new rule and how I felt about it. I have no issue with such a rule by itself. Its a very common rule and I don’t blame server for implementing it. The issue I took with the rule was that it seemed to only be implemented because “Facism is on the rise” (whatever that means) (which is also ironic given that in my efforts to look into this ban it seems that the powers that be have been either ignoring me or trying to silence me as with the previous thread).

I urge anyone with the power to do so to look back at the conversation in chat that day. I can’t because I got banned. As I reiterate, I even talked to staff there to tell them of my intentions to keep my side of the conversation peaceful and unheated. Furthermore, I don’t understand why the ban was necessary given that I had already served a punishment for the conversation, as mentioned in the previous thread. I had been timed out (presumably along with the other members of the conversation) due to an agreement with a comment another user made about a non staff user.

So to conclude, I understand why my friend was banned that day. I am fine with the implementation of a hard “no slurs” rule, instead, I was questioning its reasons for existing.(To make it clear, if they had simply said “moving forward, slurs will result in an immediate and permanent ban”, I wouldn’t have pushed further). I am writing this now not only to attempt to appeal this ban, but also because I feel as though my voice and side isn’t being given a proper chance to be heard. I urge the mods and staff to give my side of the story a chance, and I thank you for doing so.

Making another thread after an admin has locked the previous one is going to get you banned here as well.

You were advised to contact [email protected] to submit an appeal since it gets sent to the head admin.
If you receive no reply at all, take it as a hint that your appeal has been denied.

not trying to debate but honestly feel like if it gets denied you should get an email back saying denied, ive had cases when trying to get my medical records from a hospital my email just gets lost and never processed so one in theory could think the same thing could of happened for e621 ban appeals

You are free to bring up any complaints with how the appeals get handled to the head admin, @NotMeNotYou.
As I have said, they are the one dealing with the emails and it is up to them if they want to take the time to respond to you.

And question is which e-mail to use.. quite a number of mail services would quietly block both from and to e621 domain and other known NSFW domain as per their business policy (a "coalition against porn", headed by Google and Apple).

As mentioned in the previous thread (and i suppose thats on me for not mentioning it here) i did. Three times as a matter of fact, each with good lengths of time between them. I recieved zero responses, so I have chosen to escalate here. I’m not trying to abuse a system or be irritating, I just want my voice to be heard, and up to now I feel like that voice hasn’t been respected as a member.

Escalating to a public forum is not how you go about it, that's how you get yourself banned
Especially since your topic got locked and you created another one

Go send a dmail to the head admin, or as has been said accept that your appeal was denied and move on with your life

Send me a dmail and we'll hash it out. Making more forum threads isn't going to work for an appeal.

Why make a private ticket on top of the thread?

Actually, I’m not quite sure how to do that. Would you mind informing me how to?

Accidentally made a new thread trying to make this, but this is currently resolved. Thank you so much to Rainbow Dash for hearing me out and giving me a second chance, I won’t disappoint.
Sorry for making such a big deal out of everything as well.
