Topic: How to list source if source was deleted?

Posted under General

A artist I follow, unicorngore/ buncovenvt, had deleted her twitter account which held much of their art. I saved about every art piece of theirs from that account before they deleted it. And while some pieces have other uploads on furaffinity or itaku, the majority do not and have not been reuploaded since. My question is how should I list these art pieces as having no source since they are from the now deleted twitter? Or is there some other way I should be listing these? Thankyou in advance.

I would link their dead Twitter account striked out and add the tag unavailable_at_source, but I don't know if that's how it should be done.

well better to atleast tag it somehow than not at all. thanks for the suggestion.

For this scenario, get the artist's permission to reupload their art yourself at reliable source websites, or ask them to personally upload more of their art at the other sources.
If a link is dead, remove it. If a post doesn't have an uploaded source, you should check the No Source available button on upload. For already uploaded posts with no living source, a link to where the artist is actively posting is helpful.

do not remove links if they are now dead. you use the strikethrough function. do not remove once valid sources even they are no longer valid.

Is it for those just-incase scenarios that the source gets restored somehow? I wouldn't know which sources that could do that but I could definitely believe that reasoning

most likely as A. an archive of where art was once found, and B. there are sites like the wayback machine that might be able to find the page if you have the link

Some strikes out sources may still work in specific scenarios, discord cdn sources for instance will still work if you paste them into a discord client

Ex post #4302796, the cdn link is striked out but it will work if you paste it into the discord client (the client automatically refreshes expired attachment links)

I actually automate these changes since the parameters give an exact time of expiry

That's pretty cool! I didn't know such a thing would happen
