Topic: Why do dragon posts have the mammal tag? Has anyone else noticed?

Posted under General

I've been seeing a lot of dragon posts with mammal tags and they're not hybrids. I'm not sure if someone is going around and adding the mammal tag to some because i went to find one dragon art post i like (this one https://e621.net/posts/4847777?q=ququqee399e ) and i have never seen the mammal tag added to it before. I could be wrong but i'm just wondering why and if anyone else has noticed that mammal tags have been being added to dragon posts. Also sorry if i posted this in the wrong category

I can't speak about any other posts, but with the one you linked the tag was added by the uploader. It seems to be a mistag, to me.

The post in question was tagged with mammal by the original poster, so it was always there from the start.
It is very likely to be a mistag since some people assume breasts = mammal, so just remove them accordingly.

That post seems to be a mistag. That said, there ARE mammalian dragons.

there are users who just tag anything with tits as mammal for some reason.

I don't remember seeing it but i will fix up the tags if needed. And yeah i don't get why some people think breasts = mammal, it is like saying a egg laying mammal is a scalie on which it is not but yeah

Because, in real life, only mammals have mammary glands, which have developed into breasts in humans. That's why we have the non-mammal breasts tag, for all the fantasy breasts on species, most real but some fictional, that wouldn't normally have them (although arguments could be made about "normal" in fictional species). After all, we're dealing with art and a wide range of takes on fantasy anthropomorphosism here that appeal to one particular mammalian species.
