The tag implication #68184 gerson -> undertale_(series) is pending approval.
Reason: Gerson is a character from Undertale and he also gets mentioned in Deltarune
If you’ve played chapter 4 then obviously he does more than just get mentioned but I didn’t wanna spoil it just in case there’s someone reading this who hasn’t played it

it was bought up in the Tag Discussion channel of our Discord, that it ought to be disambiguated for in-game reasons. i haven't played the game, but if what was said is true then adding suffixes to differentiate would be ideal, IMO.

I think the name might be unique enough that it would be alright, but otherwise I suppose it could be updated to gerson_(undertale)?

Imo the designs aren't really any more distinct or drastically different than other dark world/light world design differences, which are not tagged as different characters. No other character has separate tags for their Undertale/Deltarune or light world/dark world design splits.
A 'alternate form' tag (both forms are in Undertale) that DOES exist- undyne and undyne_the_undying is mostly mistags from people who assume it's the full name/title of the vanilla character.
