Topic: What is your favorite dragon design(s)?

Posted under General

Tbh i love a lot of dragon designs but i have weak spot for some of those really cool ones on FA where they have a angel or other dimension and etc look to them. But of couse i am a sucker for the more vanilla designs as well haha.

Now what is y'alls favorite design(s)?

It's hard to pick. I think I like eastern dragons the most, though.

Dragons drawn well that don't look like generic concept art you would find on DeviantArt or ArtStation. Some artists are able to show off their heavy, well-defined physique at a high level of detail while still doing something interesting with the pose, silhouette, style, or the ideas behind the piece.

I'll take these over another "airborne dragon with blank expression flying over a forest and river at day" any day of the week. It matters less what the dragon's overall design is (within reason) and more that you do something cool with it in the first place.

I don't know why but something about seeing YouTube links in regards to a question like this hit me with a really vivid memory of way back, early-era YouTube, I saw a channel with a bunch of videos where it was just a (probably autistic) man showing off his hand-drawn dragon/dog(specifically terrier) hybrids. but I can't remember enough to find the videos, if they're even still around.

Similar to what Song said, I'm a big fan of dragons that do something unique with the concept of "dragon". The dragons from dragcave.net fundamentally changed me as a child when I first discovered them in 2010, and year after year they keep adding more and more sick-ass designs with fun concepts and unique personalities. One of my favorites has always been the blusang lindwyrm, but the pillow dragons are also a big and fluffy classic. Recently they did a dragon based on a menorah. Isn't that cool?

Oh yeah wow, those are really cool. I love how well done it looks :o

I like dragon designs that are mary sues with rainbows everywhere, scene/emo hair and all the sparklefur goodness in a dragon design.
