The tag alias #77648 oriental_clothing -> asian_clothing is pending approval.
Reason: The adjective "Asian" is preferable to "oriental", except maybe in the case of a rug. There is a separate "oriental" tag that has already been invalidated.

Change it to east_asian_clothing as that is the more accurate term for oriental, and is also a very populated tag so it's already there

Asian_clothing has been used on 32,000 posts and East_asian_clothing has been used on 31,000 posts, so they are both very populated.
I know the history of these terms, and "East Asian" is technically less accurate than "Asian", but I truly do not care about minor distinctions when we are talking about aliasing away a tag that is rarely used, and probably will never be used to refer to central asian clothing, unless T E Lawrence rises from the dead and tries to upload a picture of his fursona wearing a Bedouin robe.
I mean it's not a big deal but when people say oriental, they mean East Asia

in more modern times, yeah, although the word originally meant pretty much anything east of Europe.
the bit of usage of tag has does seem to be more east asian than just generally asian. although it having been added a total of eleven times, the sample size is quite low.

I do vaguely remember oriental being one of those dogwhistle terms for describing non Europeans back in the day
Or at least some people used it for that
