Topic: [APPROVED] Invalidate the Millennials BUR

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #11472 is active.

create alias young_adult (0) -> adult (223)

Reason: This tag is unnecessary, as the assumed norm for characters are young adults unless shown/tagged otherwise (young, middle-aged, elderly).
It is also almost never used, likely for the same reason.

EDIT: The bulk update request #11472 (forum #455649) has been approved by @spe.

Once again, my existence is made invalid.
You'd think I would get used to it, but here we are anyways.

But also, millennials are definitely, 100% not young adults anymore.

If it's considered the default and thus has no valid replacement, it should be aliased to invalid_tag rather than just having its category changed to invalid

I agree the tag isn't valid or needed in any way.

oof...

Possible alternative, alias to adult? It's already in invalid category so that makes cleanup slightly easier than being another invalid tag itself.

A valid replacement could be adult_(lore) and, based on the number of young_adult young results and occasionally being used to replace the young tag, it looks like that's what some people are using it in place of. Best case being in the invalid category could be useful for finding people violating TWYS, worst case it's just marginally more difficult to clean up than being piled into invalid_tag.

Aliasing to adult sounds like a good alternative, it doesn't create another tag that needs cleanup, rather adding on to an existing invalid tag (and also provides chances to replace it with valid some possibly tags as you've mentioned)

Yeah I definitely wanted to reach a little for the sake of a funny title. I'm from 95 so I'm the youngest a millennial is supposed to be able to be and I feel it in my bones

That sounds good enough to me. When I was shown this tag, my first thought was "So adolescent but outside of the young group?"
