Topic: Hi! I'm looking for someone(s) to help me make a furry comic

Posted under Art Talk

Hi there. My name is Wolvis. I have been a member of the furry Fandom since I was in middle school and I would look up comics on my Nintendo DSi. I've always wanted to make my own comics but I've never been a good artist. It's not from lack of practice, my hands and wrists don't function well like other people's. But I can write like a mf!
So that's why I'm here making my first post on this site.
I am very sick. I don't want to get into specifics, but I feel like I should put it out there because of what I'm about to ask. I've always wanted to make my own comics but I never could. So I am hoping to find an artist or a small group of artists who could help me make a comic(s). I have a lot of stories I'd like to put out. However, because I am sick a lot of my money goes to medical bills. So I would not be able to pay people for their artwork, which is stupid as hell I know considering that one of this Fandom's main pillars is literally commissions. I've thought about just self publishing them as books, but the action, romance, and emotional scenes don't really hit as hard when you're reading them (in my opinion).
So this is just me asking if someone or a group of someones would want to turn one of my stories into a comic. I understand this sounds stupid. I've been hesitant to even make this post. But I'm not getting any better anytime soon and I'd really like at least one of my stories out there for others to see.
For context: all my stories are gay (mlm). And I'm not gonna lie... most of them are polycule/harem related. It's a guilty pleasure of mine, I like me some wholesome harem anime, especially when the MC is actually a good person and they don't oversexualize the lovers.
But I digress. My stories are all fantasy, action, and romance, however, there is buildup to the actual romance so it takes a while for the story to lead up to the smut bits (yes all the stories contain smut, it's a guilty pleasure, I'm sorry). I've finished the first drafts of some of te stories but none of them are actually finished. They're all still WIP. I am really meticulous about loose ends, I hate unanswered questions, I hate plot points that don't make sense, and other stuff that completely ruins a story. However, if I do find someone or a group of someones who would be willing to help, I would luke them to let me know which story they would prefer I focus on first. I am working on 7 stories total (I'm a masochist lol). Most of these magic systems are simple in design. Like how in the anime Frieren all you really have to do in order to cast magic is to be able to visualize it. Of course some of the stories have a bit more complexity, but not to the point that someone would need a whole multi-page essay to explain it.
The way I've written the stories are so that the MC is human, I've always liked the idea of a human falling in love with a furry, sort of a self-indulgent thing, sorry. However, I can easily change that.
The stories are also rather long... like I planned on making them into a series long. My original plan is to write these books as different series, like Percy Jackson. And I understand that helping a stranger on a super long project is not just risky and sketchy, but can also just be a waste of time.
Since I am asking for collaboration, I expect criticism on what I have written, so if changes need to be made I am fine with that as long as it doesn't completely change the tone of the story. A lot of these stories are very serious in nature, some topics mentioned in my stories are heavy, however, there are no r*pe scenes. I've always fucking HATED when people add r-scenes to comics, especially BL comics. There are also no cheating scenes. Again, I feel like cheating is a stupid way to introduce drama, especially if the couple gets back together.
If you are interested, or know someone who would be interested, please let me know.
If you have any questions about the stories I've written, like a synopsis, what the characters are like, what the magic systems are, worldbuilding, etc, please let me know. I'd love to answer any questions.
I understand this post might not get any traction or attention.
Honestly this is just a Hail Marry for me. A last shot for me to see my stories be put out into the world.
Any help would be appreciated, truly.

TL;DR: I am a writer looking for artists to help me make my stories into comics. I am very sick and all my money goes to medical bills so I would be unable to pay anyone. I really am sorry. This is more of a last ditch effort charity case. If you have questions about the stories I've written please let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I understand that the "I'm sick and very poor" excuse has been used a lot in order to scam people. But if you would like proof, I can easily provide it if asked. Obviously I can't give out my real name, but I can provide other forms of proof. Also when I do come into more money, I will happily pay those who helped me make my dream a reality. I honestly don't care if my stories make money, I just want to show others what I've made. Maybe inspire people the way other stories have inspired me. And maybe be recognized as that guy who made a really good furry comic lol.

Thank you for your time and I hope you have a good day.

My advice is to just stick to writing. Writing is a really cool and interesting form of expression, and while it's not the same as visual art, it's not inferior in any way. If you want, you can share your stories for free on a site like Archive Of Our Own, a fanfiction-oriented site with no content restrictions that also allows original writing and has a thriving community.

I'm going to be fully honest here. This is extremely unlikely to ever happen for you. There really aren't many (skilled) artists who do requests, and especially not for a long form format like an ongoing comic. And it's also unlikely that you'll just stumble across someone who's as passionate about your stories and characters as you are.

The biggest problem with this, really, is that a lot of people have a ton of ideas. I have ideas too, and trust me, I would love to see those come into fruition in one way or another. But if I'm unable to do the work myself, I will have to pay another person to do it on commission. It's not fair to them to ask for free labor when they could spend their personal art energy on their own projects. That's why these sorts of "big idea" posts don't go anywhere.

As I said, if you like to write, keep writing. It might not be all that you want but it's important for creative people to have an outlet for what they want to make.

I hope this doesn't come across as harsh or rude, that's not my intent, it's just important to be realistic, even if it means an outcome we wouldn't prefer.

I'm going to be frank, barring issues from asking for free art on the forum, there is little to no chance an artist is going to pick up a potentially long-term project such as this out of the kindness of their heart and completely free-of-charge. It just doesn't happen that often or at all.

It is great that you are passionate with story-writing, so the best advice I can give is to share your works to as wide of an audience as possible such as on fanfiction sites like AO3 or on social media.
Don't be put off that nobody wants to create comics from your stories, just focus on what you can do and what you do best.
If your stories become popular enough or someone develops a personal interest in your stories, you may see donations coming in to help with your future projects (which may include funding your own comic series).
