Topic: AI Generated Audio Category Change

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

I feel ai_generated_audio should share the same category with voice actors/sound editors as "contributors" to the post, since they do not directly participate in the important visual elements of the post that were drawn by "artists".

On the other hand, the main ai_assisted artist tag does not imply ai_generated_audio (yet) and seems to only be focused on the visual aspect of AI generation only.

The contributor category is for voice actors and modelers exclusively, of which ai generated audio may fall into, but not always
it's also not suffixed, which all tags in the category should be
I really wish I had actually made that a requirement, but hardcoding things is bad practice

IMO, they are one and the same, even if the contributor category is supposed to be used in the way you described.
It has no place in the artist category simply because no other tags share this kind of distinction, other than sound_warning and epilepsy_warning which are in there for content warning purposes rather than being actual artists.

If that is still not satisfactory, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing it be moved to the meta category instead, where similar tags exist (i.e., text-to-speech).

I'd have no issue with the meta category, and if TTS is already there that seems like a precedent to me
