Topic: vore tagging

how do we tag vore on here?? like im not into it (i hate it), yeah, but dude. according to TWYS, there are things that are tagged vore that contain not vore, or, at the very least, it's up to interpretation if it is or not. like, if an image has a parent that IS vore, is that image also vore? because if not, what's up with post #5219363? and even then, the parent of that post is also kind of subjective? like is this vore or did they eat a lot of food??

First of all, other posts have no relevance on tagging a post, in general.
That said, yes, after_vore in that form is hard to tell apart from other things (pregnancy, big_belly, overweight, and a few others). There's no good solution for tagging.

I removed all vore related tags on that particular image as there is no in-picture indication that anything happened outside of weight_gain

Vore is one of those funny things where a not insignificant portion of the people who don't like it act like they're outright allergic to even the mention of it leading to maybe more liberal tagging than is really necessary or condoned, especially when it comes to post-vore images. For things where a 'big belly' is not visibly vore, but is very much intended to be, I almost wonder if a lore tag might be helpful to allow the vore-allergic to avoid images that are intended to be vore/have vore in their parent posts/are part of a vore sequence/talk about vore in their descriptions without otherwise disrupting twys.

That's funny but also sounds like crazy talk

It is, but it's unfortunately been my experience in certain circles. I know that enforcing strict twys on post/pre-vore images will put the thumbnails for vore images and vore stories on these peoples' screens and, frankly, I'd rather not fucking deal with that.

Absolutely fair and agreeable. I'm one of those people that would really like to never see vore stuff myself, but I can also clearly distinguish between fetish vore and someone holding a chubby belly lol

I know this is about a month old but I was browsing topics and it stood out to me. Vore seems very over-tagged to me for size difference oral.

Two classic examples to me: post #41173 and post #41174

Nothing in either image suggests imminent vore, much less vore itself. The character's legs especially show this. I know better than to get into tag wars, but large size difference is not intrinsically about vore.

For similar reasons, watersports is over-tagged as well though that one is much easier to identify miss-tags with.

Idk. The poses are identical to stuff you'd see in vore. Plus there's an overt focus on saliva and oral anatomy in a way that is very, very typical in vore. The smaller character is in a position that would facilitate swallowing with minimal effort or adjustment. This is the vore equivalent of a character posing with their penis pressed against a vulva. Maybe that's as far as the characters will go (this is an inherent issue with all 'imminent' tags), but it certainly looks like there's intent to go further.

The point for alleged overtags on those fetishes is specifically to protect people who don't want to see them or things that are adjacent.

Tagging should be accurate. This is more obvious with watersports however, since people can blacklist things like peeing or urine. There is no reason for that to be tagged inaccurately "just in case."

The opposite is true for vore though: people who like size difference but don't want a blacklist to apply to things that are not vore. That, however, is much harder to objectively define though.

I'll have to respectfully disagree with my examples, since the smaller character's legs are clearly outside of the mouth in such a way that directly contradicts the notion vore is "imminent." Those are large size difference oral, but as I said I'd never attempt to change the tags.

The positioning of the legs is completely irrelevant. Artists can draw and depict anatomy and positioning of limbs in any way they want, there are no laws of physics in furry art.
