Your alias reasoning is confusing. I think you are aliasing away the clearer term into the more ambiguous one, which is a bit of an awkward kludge to address ambiguity in a tag. We could rename the base tag into something clearer instead.

I agree that holding_tail and tail_grab are poorly named in isolation and relative to each other. The tags don't clearly tell the reader how they should be used without reading the wiki. A tag like holding_another's_tail would be significantly clearer, as would renaming holding_tail to holding_own_tail. These are wordier, but self-explanatory just by reading the tag names alone.

All fair points! I know I have tagged a few posts wrong with multiple holding and grabbing tags, but then looked at the definitions to re-tag and fix my mistakes.

I know the first tag has ~25 posts, where as tail_grab is 14K+.

25 posts means that, for me, I was one of the minority making mistakes, but I'd like to see some clarity. Although, as Song has stated. This may be the wrong path, I don't know.
