Topic: Upload Limit

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

Hi there,

I see my upload limit was set to a negative number and I checked messages to see it was because of a minimum tag requirement not met.
Firstly, if this is a requirement, may I suggest the page automatically prevent upload if the tag amount is not met instead of relying on the end user to remember.
Secondly, what actions do I have to take so I can start uploading again?

Some wires have gotten crossed here. Your upload limit isn't negative because of the tag requirement, it's because your takedowns affected your upload limit. You can see your full formula here: https://e621.net/users/266165/upload_limit (which is also linked on your profile). I can get in touch with other staff members who can adjust your upload limit.

If you clicked on your Upload Limit stats, you can see the exact breakdown of what caused it to go into the negatives.
In this case, it was due to having 81 deleted posts and not because you did not meet tagging requirements.

Firstly, if this is a requirement, may I suggest the page automatically prevent upload if the tag amount is not met instead of relying on the end user to remember.

It is your responsibility to make sure the tags you add are adequate and valid for the posts you upload.
Some posts are exempt from the 10 tag minimum requirement if there is simply nothing to tag, and this is especially the case for zero_pictured posts.

If you want to suggest implementing a warning next time for not meeting the tagging requirements, you were indeed given one already.
You were given a note by an admin (grey record) that you were breaking site rules back in April to watch your tag counts, then officially warned (red record) one month later for breaking the same rules again.
Breaking the same rules for the third time would likely result in your account getting suspended for a duration of time, and if you break it again after that, you will likely get a permanent suspension of your account.

Secondly, what actions do I have to take so I can start uploading again?

Since your upload limit has nothing to do with your tagging shortcomings, you may request from an admin to reset your upload limit to enable you to post again.

Leeway is given to users who have had their upload limit locked due to mass takedowns submitted by artists, which can be unavoidable at times.
However, if your upload limit was locked due of your own mistakes (such as constantly posting stuff that are of inferior quality or do not meet quality standards), they may not reinstate your limit again.

I noticed he filed a takedown, so that's why.

Oh, I just realised it was self-sabotaged. Still, they can ask for their upload limit to be reinstated since they weren't breaking any rules related to uploading.

Oh thanks so much, that would be cool ;)
