hmm... I'm not sure I totally jive with inanimate_transformation's current definition, to me it seems like it should be for situations where a character's mobility and autonomy are taken away. essentially a TF subset of objectification.
it feels odd to me to include stuff like plushification where the character is still totally ambulatory alongside stuff like total petrification.

I don't think gold_transformation has any impact on that, though. Even if the tag's definition changes, the implication still makes sense to me.

a character could feasibly be made into gold without being made into an object, though.
At best, this seems ambiguous. There's a difference between something being gold, and something being a gold statue. Being made of gold or some metal doesn't inherently make something an inanimate object, so something turning into gold doesn't inherently mean they're turning into an inanimate object. Like post #2643474 where a character is unquestionably turning into gold, but there's no indication that they're becoming inanimate. There are things like D&D's metallic dragons, which aren't presumed to be inanimate/animate_inanimate despite to being made out of metals (steel dragons, gold dragons, etc). A character turning into an obviously metallic gold_dragon_(dnd) could be classified as a gold_transformation without being an inanimate_transformation.
If this tag is meant solely for something becoming a(n inanimate) gold statue, which could be classified as an inanimate object, I think a better name would be warranted.
