The rules say not to make posts about real life tragedies, and this is exactly what post #5595275 depicts. Should this be taken down? Thanks in advance.

You do not have to do anything since it is still pending approval. A mod or an admin will go through it eventually.
Posts such as this are typically evaluated on a case-by-case basis based on the message the post is trying to portray according to the National, Racial, or Ethnic Hatred rule.
For "real life tragedies", it is limited to only recent tragic events according to the Posting Abuse rule (i.e., "Do not upload content that is associated with recent real-life tragedies.").
Otherwise, all posts that references "real life tragedies" such as 9/11 would be deleted altogether. What is considered as "recent" is up to mod discretion.

I see, thank you! Is there an estimate of what the mods consider recent? I don't think this post falls under recent since this incident happened five years ago at this point.
EDIT: The post has been deleted due to being a low quality edit, I assume because of the text at the top.

You will never get a direct answer for where the line is. This is deliberate as to dissuade people from trying to tip-toe around the limits.
Moreover, similar posts can still be deleted regardless of how old or recent it is, under the deletion reason "Glorification and thoughtless use of a real person's death."
You can see the related discussions on topic #27228 and topic #32671, where the comments by the head admin may give you some idea of how posts are deleted.
