If the objective of the Fit Vertical Resize function is to fit the image within the bounds of the browser window, it should not be necessary to scroll down to see the whole image once the page loads. Vertical resizing should include the vertical space requirements of all site UI elements (including banner ads and news/notices when present) above the image as well as the Like/Fave and Comments/Edit buttons below the image. It requires more effort than should be necessary to frame the image within the window with the scrolling action on mice being notchy rather than continuous, and needing to scroll and line up between pages makes it more difficult to effectively flip back and forth between image variants to spot the differences for tagging and spotting duplicates. Being able to just load the page, see everything, and hit Like/Fave/Comment/Edit without scrolling or resorting to the too-small Sample size and being able to take advantage of 1440 and 4k monitors would be ideal. This would also make better use of handhelds with limited/cumbersome mouse functionality like Steam Deck and ROG Ally.
