Topic: alias big_calves -> muscular_legs

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

In regard to the followup not all big calves are necessarily big because of muscles, I do not think it is sound to alias a tag that is generic for any cause to something that does specifically reference muscles.

Also even if we disregard that would it not be more proper to alias these to muscular_legs following in line with topic #57336

alias muscular_calves -> muscular_legs
alias big_calves -> thick_calves

Calves are muscles.

For some reason, we have separate tags for muscular_calves and muscular_thighs but no corresponding granularity for muscular_arms. I'm choosing to follow the existing organization instead of removing them, but you can make a BUR to suggest that if you prefer.

No they are not, calf_muscles are muscles, but calves in of themselves are not. They are a body region like thighs, shins, belly, abdomen, cheeks, forehead and so on so forth.
Do you really think these are muscles in the legs, this is tagged with thick_thighs of which "big_thighs" is aliased to; post #5515253
If big thighs do not equal muscles then big calves do not equal muscles ether, and again it is certainly possible to have big calves and that size not to be the result of muscles.

we do have muscular_biceps but it is not really used, the lack of sub tags does probably have to do with the fact that we dont really have a well known unique names for regions of the arm like we do for the legs, we just have upper arm and lower arm/forearm...

I would tag that with big_legs.

The real question, I suppose, is if we need separate tags for calves in the first place, or if calves can be covered by a general "leg" tag.

Characters can have big_calves AND small_calves (in the case of four-legged creatures) and, having a post in this scenario with big_calves being aliased to muscular_calves, it would be rather confusing, and potentially wrong.

I suggest we unalias big_calves and big_muscles, but we leave big_calves as is after that.
