Looking at the usage and the fact that proposal has a longstanding well made wiki page, yeah I believe this is a good alias of a lesser used tag combining with the predominant one

It should be the other way around. A proposal can be for many things- business, sex, prom. A look at the removals shows this is not super uncommon. However I don't think it's common enough to necessarily warrant a disambiguation. Changing the name to something more clear will make mistags more obvious.

A marriage proposal is a very specific thing, and aliasing it to proposal can lead to strange circumstances.
